The Story of Sheba
Why
Sheba, Sheba was my first horse. She was like a wild brumby from the
river when I first got her. I paid for her out of my pocket money as a
child and never spent an inch always determined to have my own horse
since I could remember. At 14 I got Sheba.
Our
horse riding friends together we were influenced by the horse movies
then it was Pharlap and Man from Snowy River they were new out at the
movies then. Sheba my horse she was bold and fast. It came my love of
the Thoroughbred and she was only part but we rode like she was all
even at 14.2hh.
As Teenagers we cantered
through water and made up our own
x country tracks. Sheba was surefooted and bold, like Queen of Sheba we flew fast and free
into the sea winds racing bareback along the river with our horse
riding friends. It was our run every night home.... Our
horses once the race started it was on... no stopping till
the finish, with the wind in our eyes we flew like the wind to freedom.
Times
have
really changed since back then 20 years ago now and I ride
with my daughter we both have Thoroughbreds they are quiet and lovely.
I don't ride like the wind anymore but i ride with inspiration and
freedom. Amber loves riding and really loves Show Jumping! its so
much fun!
A
